Combining experience in Imaging, Clinical Radiotherapy, Radiobiology and Research fields, Precision X-Ray delivers the experience needed to assist Scientists and Companies to the next level.
Rapid technological advances in radiation targeting and delivery are emphasizing the need for greater capacity to study radiation effects in complex systems. Precision X-Ray stays abreast of these advances and develops new applications and new equipment to meet expanding customer application needs.
Radiological sources are used in many different industries such as cancer treatment, testing industrial equipment and sterilization of equipment. Conversely, if the radioactive sources fall into the wrong hands they can be possibly be used in dirty bombs.
The use of radioactive sources requires expertise, training and strict security measures. This places a burden on the Radiation Safety office and Researchers of the company where it is installed.
The Cesium Irradiator Replacement Project(CIRP), offered by ORS, provides qualified sites who are interested in making the switch from gamma rays with a financial incentive towards the purchase price of a new non-radioisotopic device, as well as the removal and disposal of the cesium irradiator.
Our experienced team can help guide you through this process with multiple machine offerings and published data between gamma and x-rays.
“ We recently decided to use X-ray instead of cesium irradiators in our new building. Mount Sinai is proactively looking at alternative technologies and will, hopefully, phase out all radioactive material as time goes by. ”
Jacob Kamen, PhD
Senior Director Radiation Safety, Mount Sinai
This program is from the Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Radiological Security (ORS). For qualified participants the ORS will remove and dispose of the Cesium irradiator, saving the site significant costs. They will also offer a financial payment towards the purchase of a non-radioisotopic device up to 50% of the purchase price.
We offer a CIRP Guidance service helping make your transition from Cesium to X-ray Irradiation straightforward:
